Toby Chernesky and DJ Guilty Pleasures are excited to produce their second event with Wonderville! Toby Chernesky is a singer, producer, and actor known for his work in the NYC cabaret scene, most notably for “A Gay’s Dream: Broadway’s Leading Ladies with a Gender-Bent Twist!” at 54 Below in February and as well as “The LGBTQ+ Lifeline” at The Green Room 42 in August, a fundraiser cabaret that raised over $2000 for the Trevor Project. He is also known to perform in drag under the name Toast, having cohosted with RuPaul’s Drag Race’s Tatianna, and the recent sold-out Chappell Roan Tribute show at House of Independents in Asbury Park. DJ Guilty Pleasures is an NYC-based DJ, having recently worked with Frankie Grande for his album release party and the Broadway production of Death Becomes Her cast recording release party. He works all across Manhattan and Brooklyn.

In celebration of Slight Of's new single "Sunsets on the Screen," join your local music industry thought leaders for an evening of music, discussion, tomfoolery, and strategic positioning for navigating the virtual worlds we inhabit on a day-to-day basis. 



Video games, social media, online streaming platforms—these spaces controlled and constructed by algorithms, probabilistic logic, and multi-national corporations continue to encroach on our every day lives.

Where does the virtual end and the real begin?

If your answer to the second question is anything but "never," this event is for you!

Slight Of is the songwriting project of New York artist Jem Hill. After the release of their 2020 album Other People, Jem began work on a collection of songs influenced heavily by internet and video game culture. The result is a multi-media interactive project known as Omniscient Eye. The album is scheduled to be release later this year.

Trace Mountains is the musical project of sing-songwriter Dave Benton. Talkdemonic is the long-running instrumental project of Brooklyn-based composer Kevin

textures. Founded in Portland, Oregon in 2004 as a solo exploration of percussion and

atmospheric sound design, Talkdemonic quickly gained acclaim for albums like Mutiny Sunshine and Beat Romantic, and has toured with The National, The Flaming Lips, and Modest Mouse. O’Connor has composed music for the award-winning jazz documentary Universe (IDA’s Best Music Documentary), Back Water, and Birds of Neptune, as well as collaborating with Jóhann Jóhannsson on Darren Aronofsky’s Mother!. His sixth album, Very Cool Yesterday, continues that evolution—lush, transportive, and evocative. The album was highlighted as a Bandcamp New and Notable release, describing it as a collection of “fourth world music, drone, and minimalism across a dozen intoxicating instrumentals”.

Hey slime bag! Every month, we’re bringing Scrapeboard to Wonderville on the first Tuesday of the month. Come through to play an arcade game that uses a real skateboard deck and metal floor pads as the controller. Challenge a boss rush where you perform combos using the skatedeck and floor pads to block sword attacks from Tony Hawk’s hardest hitters, including Kool Man, an alien, and a Nintendo Switch.

Scrapeboard is an arcade game started in 2018 by dank.game and @snakesandrews that has been to MAGFest, TooManyGames, DerpyCon, PlayNYC, GDC, and many other events. Make your mark on it at Wonderville 👾
