Join us for Evening Science Time! A team of godless researchers put science and comedy into a centrifuge and the resulting product appears to be a series of fast-paced, engaging powerpoint presentations from some people you love! That’s science for you.
Hosted by the insatiably curious filmmaker Tessa Bury (@tessabury), this evening will feature presentations from Tom Lum, Reid Pope, and Annie Rauwerda… and an additional musical surprise guest. But that’s a secret. A science secret. 🧪 Tom Lum (@tomlumperson) is a science communicator and co-host of the award-winning podcast Let’s Learn Everything! on Maximum Fun. His science storytelling has been featured by Veritasium, SciShow, and Maximum Fun, but don’t worry— he still has more science to communicate.
📖 Annie Rauwerda (@depthsofwikipedia) is a journalist and comedian known for Depths of Wikipedia, where she digs up the strangest and most fascinating information from the corners of Wikipedia for 1.5M followers. A 2022 Wikimedian of the Year, she has brought esoteric knowledge to live comedy shows, TEDx Talks, and The New York Times. One summer, she made a stew that received positive attention for many consecutive weeks. 🎭 Reid Pope (@rpopegram) is a comedian, playwright, and the Co-Creator / EP / Head Writer of Going Down, a trans-led comedy news show. Their work has been featured in The New Yorker, PAPER, and Vulture. Reid’s short film, “Lesbian Jesus Is Pregnant With Vibes”, premiered at NewFest in 2024. Reid is also very knowledgable about science.
