The FORT90 FILM CLUB is back in 2022 with a new “floating” time-slot (meaning, it won't be just the last Monday of a month) and also split across multiple weeks once again (which may or may not be a permanent thing). Also there's a new start time, 8PM.
So it seems only appropriate that for this month, when things are kinda/sorta different this time in general, that the theme itself be about time. We're not talking about time travel movies per say, it's just... about time. "Part 2" will include...
12:01 PM - This rarely seen short film was originally part of an anthology series for Showtime that ended up getting nominated for an Oscar, it's just that good.
FISH STORY - Familiar with the butterfly effect? No, am not showing that movie, am asking about the concept; just think that, but instead of a butterfly flapping its wings and causing a typhoon, this movie is about an obscure punk song that ends up saving the world. Fish Story is basically the best film made in Japan in the past 15 or so years that basically no one talks about.
MEMENTO (THE CHRONOLOGICAL CUT) - Familiar with Christopher Nolan's second feature length film, the one that put him on the map? Probably, at least the original theatrical version, in which the narrative jumps back and forth through time. But have you seen "The Chronological Cut", which as the name implies, retells the story in chronological order? The end result is not necessarily a better film, but it's certainly different.
