The FORT90 FILM CLUB is back with another (advertised) double feature, with both movies starring cops who are not bastards, but that's only because they're not from this planet...

MYSTERY MOVIE #1: Best known as "that low budget movie that only cost $250 Canadian to produce", it's your standard issue SOV (shot on video) sci fi flick about an otherworldly peacekeeper who arrives on our planet to take down an alien menace, but once again, the budget was only two hundred and fifty dollars to make (yes, you read that right). Oozing with charm, as well as hometown pride, a large reason why costs are so low is that director Erica Benedikty was able to convince all her friends and neighbors to chip in, for free.

MYSTERY MOVIE #2: Given how every single artifact of the 80s has been the focus of such intense love and adoration, to the point absurdity, it is truly baffling how relatively little is said about one of the absolute finest films produced by Hollywood during the 80s, and that is no exaggeration. Without a doubt the greatest achievement from a director best known for Nightmare on Elm Street 2, Sholder deftly combines elements of action, horror, and of course sci fi with such bravado & confidence that it is legit overwhelming.
