The FORT90 FILM CLUB is back with yet a double feature in which the titles of the film are a surprise (unless you’re a member of the CLUB; to join, send an email to fort90filmclub@gmail.com or follow @fortninety on Twitter), though each month’s selections are based around a theme, and for November 2020 it’s cats! Lots and lots of CATS!
MYSTERY MOVIE #1 is, quite seriously, the greatest cat film that you have never heard of. But trust me, it’s going to will legit blow your. Here’s what one person on Letterboxd had to say:
"When it's a dialogue scene between human actors, this is a two star movie.
When it's a nutty dance sequence against an obvious green screen, or just a bunch of real cats hanging out and doing cat stuff, or cats turning into animated cats and singing songs that are just sampled cat sounds played on a keyboard, novelty album-style? Then this is a billion star movie."
MYSTERY MOVIE #2 is something that’s a bit more well known, cuz it’s "the most dangerous film ever made" after all. Again, here’s what someone on Letterboxd’s review:
"The apex of irresponsible filmmaking, but start-to-finish completely harrowing even in the absence of much of a story, and ultimately more successful than probably anyone anticipated at illustrating humanity's clueless hubris in the face of nature. Someone should probably have gone to prison for making this."
