FREE!
The New York primary is going to be a tough one for Bernie. Turns out you can request the database of all New York voters and their mailing addresses. So I did.
Idea: we handwrite nice postcards asking people to vote for Bernie. Postcardbanking for the analog among us.
Only 11 million to write!
I've got the addresses, you bring the stamps.
Wonderville has kindly agreed to host. We'll write until we're cramping or bored or run out of supplies. Then we'll drink and play indie arcade games and at some point go home. The usual Wonderville stuff.
PLEASE BRING 35¢ USPS stamps, if you can. This is the only "requirement," as I can't buy them all.
If you want to wild, bring:
old postcards
new postcards
art supplies
cool postcards
lame postcards
rubber stamps & ink
cereal boxes we can cut into postcards
big postcards we can cut into small postcards
small postcards we can tape into big postcards
weird flat shit we can turn into postcards
stickers to decorate postcards
ballpoint pens
fountain pens
your favorite 1932 Underwood Portable 4-line typewriter
watercoloring nonsense
cheap postcards
expensive postcards
new york postcards
not new york postcards
Anything bigger than 5 × 3.5 inches and thicker than 0.007 inches (but thinner than 0.016 inches) can become a postcard!
I've got about 300 blank kraft paper postcards you can write/draw/stick/stamp/glue whatever you want on the front.
I'm also trying to get a bulk lot of 1920s New York postcards but we'll see if they arrive on time.
This isn't on official Bernie event or anything, just an idea I had. If you've got the hookup to make it offish though, let me know.
If you want to chip into the general postcard/stamp/supplies fund, Venmo @unitof with a note it's for the postcard fund.
The posting wars have just begun.
